AWARD CEREMONY

The 2008 Award Ceremony held this past weekend and
hosted by La Habra 300 Bowl was low in attendance but enjoyed by all.
The agenda included installation of our newly elected vice president, Jeff
Watson and the following eight directors: Debi Andreff;
Gracie Hastings; Bertha Lamb; Joy McGregor; Rick Niedermayer;
Bud Pinchot; Paul Reynolds and Tim Tyler. All have been elected for a two year
term.
The Awards Committee presented great-looking jackets to the winners of our
Women's and Open Tournaments. The winners present took pleasure in receiving
their jackets and having their pictures taken. The winners NOT in attendance
will be presented their jackets in their respective leagues, sans the deserved
hoop-la!
And, will the League Officer of the Year please stand up...the award goes to...
PAT SPINK. Pat is the secretary of the largest league - "Party
Timers" at Linbrook Bowl. According to G.M. John
Haveles, Pat has managed this 40 team league - that's
160 bowlers, WOW, for the past 30 years. Guess she MUST be doin'
somethin' right!! She was very excited to receive her
plaque inscribed with her achievement and thanked Linbrook
for nominating her, the Association for honoring her and to her family and many
friends on hand to support and applaud her. She says she dearly loves her
secretary job and ALL the bowlers. Congratulations Pat!
After all the presentations, everyone was invited to mingle and enjoy the
delicious carrot cake, coffee and yummy ice-cream punch.
The Association would like to thank La Habra 300 Bowl for hosting this annual
affair, the Association members for volunteering, all those in attendance and,
mostly... CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL OUR AWARD WINNERS!!!

The California State Youth Championships have
concluded. There were some great scores
posted this year, capped off by a pair of 300 games rolled on the last weekend
of the tournament by Orange County bowlers Jonathan Pasillas
of La Habra 300 Bowl and Steven Maida of Yorba Linda Bowl. Great bowling guys!

held on November 3-4, 2008 at Valley View Lanes. Watch for early entry forms and sign up
